Edward WEST (c1610-1662)

and Joan (?-1653)

 

Edward West and Joan were my 9x Great Grandparents.  (Click here to see their place in my pedigree chart.)  No possible marriage for them has been recorded in the Sussex marriage index.

Edward West’s date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  He was of Drewits in Cowfold, Sussex.  He was buried on 10 August 1662 in Cowfold.  Might he have been the son of Nicholas West and Ann Hider who married on 26 September 1587 in Bolney, Sussex?  Nicholas may have left a will in 1626.

Joan’s date and place of birth/baptism are unknown, to me.  She was buried on 27 June 1653 in Cowfold and it was noted in the burial register that she was the wife of Edward West of Drewith.

 

Edward West and Joan had 3 known children:

  1. Ann West was baptised on 26 September 1633 in Bolney, Sussex

  2. Nicholas West, my 8x Great Grandfather, was baptised on 23 February 1635/6 in Bolney.  He married Anne Mitchell in 1662.  (They have their own page.)

  3. Henry West was baptised on 9 February 1639/40 in Cowfold and buried there on 15 August 1656.
