Joseph TRIGWELL
(1754-?)
and Mary SIMMONDS (c1755-?)

Joseph Trigwell and Mary Simmonds married by licence on 2
November 1774 in Tarring Neville, Sussex. He was of Alfriston
and she of Heighton. Their marriage licence was issued on 31
October 1774 by the Archdeaconry of Lewes and recorded that Joseph
was a bachelor of Tarring Nevill and married with consent, whilst
Mary was a spinster of South Heighton. (They were not my direct ancestors.)
Joseph Trigwell was born in 1754 in East Dean, Sussex. He was
the son of John Trigwell
(1725-1784) and Mary (?-1772).
Mary Simmonds date and place of birth/baptism are unknown,
to me.
John Trigwell
and Mary had 12 known children:

Joseph Trigwell was baptised on 9 November 1774
in East Blatchington and buried there on 17 November 1774.

Mary Trigwell was baptised on 3 February 1776
in East Blatchington.
A Mary
Trigwell of Ringmer married James Muddel of
Uckfield, by banns on 29 November 1795 in Ringmer. And another Mary
Trigwell married Francis Heathcock of the Sussex
Militia on 29 October 1799 in Preston, Sussex. And yet another Mary
Trigwell married John Andrews by banns on 4
January 1804 in Brighton. She was a spinster and he was a bachelor of
the Sussex Militia. They were both of Brighton.

in Seaford.

1778 in Seaford.
A Joseph
Trigwell married Jane Howell on 5 October 1817 in
Rye, Sussex. Joseph was a widower.

Richard
married Ann Erssey by banns on 24 July 1813 in
Glynde, Sussex. He was then of West Firle and she was of
Glynde and married with consent.
In 1851
the couple were living at 12 Church Street, Seaford.
Richard was then a 63 agricultural labourer and gave his place
of birth as Alfriston. Ann was 55 and said she was born
near Chichester. Also with them on census night were 3 of
their children and 45 year old unmarried visitor, Ann
Rose.

1833 and baptised on 10 November 1833 in Seaford.

he was a 17 year old agricultural labourer living at home.

Seaford. In 1851 he was a 13 year old agricultural

November 1813 in Brighton. He was a bachelor and she a spinster and
they were both of Brighton.

a bachelor and they were both of Brighton.
Did Joseph and Mary
also have a son named Henry

January 1818 in Eastbourne, Sussex? They were both of Eastbourne.
