My Simmonds Ancestors
I have 2 ancestral Simmonds lines. The most recent was my 3x Great Grandfather John Simmons who may have been born about 1820 and possibly in Brighton, Sussex. I join the second line with my 6x Great Grandmother Ann Simmonds who was born 1703 in Ardingly, Sussex.
First Line
My 2x Great Grandfather was John Simmons Back (1843-1898), the illegitimate son of Ann Back (1823-1847), by John Simmons. And that's all I have, a name! I have a possible John Simmons born in 1821 the son of Stephen Simmons and Sarah Downs, but nothing to say for certain that he was the father of my 2x Great Grandfather.
Second Line
I join the second Simmonds line with a 6x Great Grandmother Ann Simmonds who was born in Ardingly in 1703. She married Richard Stedman in 1733.
