The KNIGHT Families of Berkshire and Sussex
My Knight AncestorsI have 2 Knight ancestral lines. The most recent is via a 4x Great Grandmother, Elizabeth Knight who married John Tyler in about 1810 in Berkshire. The couple settled in Aldermaston, Berkshire. The second line is with a 6x Great Grandmother, Maria Knight who married Andrew Godden in 1740 in Rudgwick, Sussex. She may have been born there in 1712 and have been the daughter of John Knight.
My mother's twin sister, Vera Irene Tullett married Thomas Jack Knight on 14 August 1948 in Southwick, Sussex. Thomas, known as Jack, was born on 1 December 1917 in Rudgwick, Sussex. He was the son of James Knight (1868-?) and Fanny Rose Clark. James was the son John Knight (1844-?) and Sarah Woodhatch (1843-?). John was the son of Stephen Knight (1808-1889) and Sarah Burrage (1811-1894). Stephe was born in Rudgwick and was the son of Stephen Knight and Hannah Botting.
