Family History is my hobby.  I am not a professional genealogist.

Thank you for taking the time to view my humble effort.  Also, a very BIG THANK YOU to all those who have kindly contributed information.

My Godden Ancestors

My 4x Great Grandmother was Jane Godding, also known as Jane Godden and Jane Goddard.  She married John Willard (1773-1849) in 1793 in West Chiltington, Sussex, although they were both baptised in Pulborough, Sussex.  Jane was born in 1774 and was the daughter of Andrew Godwin (1745-1812) and Hannah Henry (c1750-1778).

Andrew and Hannah had 3 children, but 1 died as an infant.  Six years after Hannah's death, Andrew married Anne Harding (1755-1829) and they (or she) had a son baptised on their wedding day.

Andrew was the son of Andrew Godden and Maria Knight (1712-?) and that's where the trail ends for the moment.
