The Will of
Richard FREEMAN
(c1685-1755)

This is the Last will and Testament of me
Richard Freeman of West Grinstead in the County of Sussex
Yeoman made the Fifteenth day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand
Seven hundred and fifty Two First I Give and bequeath unto my Two
Daughters Mary and Ann the sum of Thirty Pounds a peice of
lawfull money of Great Britain to be paid unto them respectively within
Twelve Months after my decease by my Executor hereafter named Also I
give and bequeath unto my wife the sum of One and Twenty Shillings of like
money to be paid her by my Executor herein after named Also I give
and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Mary Freeman the Sum of Ten
pounds of like lawfull money to be paid her by my said Executor at the age
of One and Twenty years I give Devise and bequeath unto my Son
Richard Freeman
All that my messuages Tenaments Garden and Orchard with the Appurtenances
situate lying and being in Shipley in the said County of Sussex and now in
the tenure or occupation of John Barnard or his Assisgns To have and
to hold the same with the Apputenances unto my said son Richard his
heirs Executors and Administrators All the rest and residue of my Goods
Chatteles and personall Estate whatsoever my Debts Legacies and Funeral
Expenses being first paid and satisfied I give and bequeath unto my said son
Richard Freeman and do make and ordain my said son Richard
sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament And In witness that this is
my last will and Testament I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and
year first above written Richard (his X mark) Freeman signed
sealed and published by the said Richard Freeman the Testator to be
his Last will and Testament in the presence of us who have subscribed our
names as witness In the presence of the said Testator Jo Browne ~

This Will was proved before the Reverend Mr John Bancock Clerk
Surrogate On the Second Day of October in the Year of our Lord One
Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Five By the Oath of Richard Freeman
natural and lawfull son of the Deced And Executor named in the above
written will to whom was well and truly by sworn saving
